Why am I asked to "refresh all of the inventory" and "remove all rates" in Booking.com?

In the process to connect booking.com to Sirvoy you will eventually come to the step where you are prompted to replace the rates in booking extranet with the once from Sirvoy. In order to do that you have to confirm when you get the following message:

"Please note, creating a new connection with Sirvoy requires that you must reset all availability and rates after the connection is set to active. This will be done automatically once you click the confirmation button below. When you remove all of the inventory (rates and availability) from the Booking.com system, please makesure to refresh your inventory via your channel manager as soon as possible, so your accommodation is bookable again on the Booking.com website. If you need assistance with this inventory refresh, please contact your channel manager Sirvoy. "

The statement above to  "please make sure to refresh your inventory via your channel manager as soon as possible, so your accommodation is bookable again on the Booking.com website" means that you need to update prices in Sirvoy under "Settings > Channels > Booking.com". First update manually then change to "update rates automatically".

In the above step you will also recieve a email from booking describing the same step that reads:

"The direct connection with your provider Sirvoy has been successfully set-up and is now active.

Type of connection: Two Way

Provider: Sirvoy

If you have removed all the inventory (rates and availability) from the Booking.com system, please make sure to refresh all inventory as soon as possible so that your accommodation is bookable again on the Booking.com website. If you need assistance with this inventory refresh, please contact your provider Sirvoy.

Please don’t hesitate to contact your Booking.com hotel support team for any questions or feedback.

If you would like to disconnect from channel manger, please contact your Booking.com Account manager.
Kind regards,

Interface & Connectivity Team"
